Rules of Capitalization and Punctuation
// Rules of Capitalization //
1. Proper Noun (Do)
a. People name (nama orang), example : Siti, Joni, Danang, and Rahma.
b. In title (judul)
c. After the full stop (setelah tanda titik (.))
2. Common Noun (Don't)
a. Capitalize name of country (nama kebangsaan), example : Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand.
b. Nasional noun, example : Indonesian, Chinese.
c. Capitalize the word "I"
d. Institution/ Organization, example : SMK N 4 Semarang.
e. Names of festival, example : Christmas, Eid Adha, Deepavali, dll.
// Rules of Punctuation //
1. Full Stop (Titik ( . ))
A full stop should always be used to end a sentence. The full stop indicates that a point has been made and that you are about to move on to further explanations or a related point. And in after abbreviation.
2. Comma ( , )
a. To separate 3 or more words, example : Maya buy pencil, ruler, and book.
b. To mark off phraces in apposition, example : Lana, my brother nephew, is an architect.
c. To separate word/ inserted into the sentence, example : They, too, have expressed their opinion.
d. To separate subordinate clause that comes before the main clause.
