• Definition

What is Recount Text?
Recount Text is text that retells events or events in the past. Cerita tersebut dapat berupa aktivitas sebelum seseorang menuliskan teks (aktivitas yang sudah terjadi sebelumnya lalu di ceritakan).

• The Purpose of Recount Text

Recount Text has a purpose, tujuannya adalah memberikan informasi mengenai suatu kejadian pada pembaca, atau menghibur pembaca (to inform or to entertain the readers). 

• Generic Structure of Recount Text

Recount Text memiliki struktur, terdiri atas : 

• Type of Recount Text

a)     Personal Recount

Personal recount text is a text that aims to tell about the author's personal experience.

 

b)    Factual Recount

Factual recount text is a story to present reports related to events that occurred based on facts (actually happened).

 

c)     Imaginative Recount

Imaginative recount is a text that is usually used by someone as a story from an imaginative event that is experienced by someone.

 

d)    Historical Recount

Historical recount is a form of recount text whose contents tell historical events.

A Trip to the National Zoo and Aquarium

 

Yesterday, my family and I went to the National Zoo and Aquarium to visit the new Snow Cubs and the other animals. In the morning, when we got to the Zoo and Aquarium there was a great big line, so we had to wait awhile to get in.

 

After we entered the zoo, we went straight to the enclosure for the Snow Cubs. My brother and I were so excited to see them. They were so cute and playful. At lunchtime Dad decided to cook a bbq. He cooked sausages so we could have sausage sandwiches. My Mom forgot the tomato sauce so we had to eat them plain. In the afternoon, we visited the aquarium. My brother was excited to see the sharks and the tropical fish. At the end of the day when we left we were going to go and get ice cream but we decided we were too tired so we drove straight home, but of course I was very happy.

Vacation to Grandma's House

On New Year's holidays 2023 to be precise after the final semester exams, my family and I went to Banyumas. Banyumas is my hometown as well as my grandmother's house, there is my grandmother and my extended family. We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights there.

There are lots of exciting things going on. At that time, in the morning I woke up at 04.30 to carry out the dawn prayer. Then I continue with a morning walk around the countryside. There the weather is very cool, and the air is still clean. The village where my grandmother lived was close to the railroad tracks. When I was walking in the morning, I saw a train passing by and heard its distinctive sound. Coming home from my morning walk, I bought tempe mendoan, which are sold on the side of the road, for breakfast. Tempe mendoan is a typical food of Purwokerto, it tastes better than tempe mendoan in other cities.

 

It's great to have a vacation in my hometown. Apart from letting go of longing for relatives, you can also feel the pleasures of the countryside. Of course the countryside is different from the city. In cities we rarely see stars at night because they are covered with pollution, whereas how beautiful it is that we can see stars in the bright night sky in the countryside. The atmosphere in the countryside is also quieter compared to the city, in the city it is very noisy with the sound of vehicles. Happy vacation to grandma's house.
